The Salazar matriarch, Patrocinia Julio vda. De Salazar, started the legacy when she establishedPat’s Machine Shop and Nickel Plating in 1950.
In 1966, son Antonio J. Salazar, Sr., with his wife Amor, took the helm and decided to rename the company to Salazar Machine Shop. For flourishing years, the couple provided innovative ideas and sound management making them as the most sought-after machine shop in the mortuary and funeral industry, nationwide.
In 1990, a third generation Salazar, more popularly known in the industry as Ogie, took over the reign from his father and renamed the company to A. Salazar Machine Shop and has since then have formed Coolidge Trading Corporation, a proficient organization inclined to uphold to the growing demand for the death-care industry. Consequently, he established AbsoluteSolution Corporation, a general and manpower services arm.
COOLIDGE TRADING CORPORATION, established in October 10, 2005, has been providing the local market with the best value-for-money imported mortuary equipment and funeral merchandise.
Spearheaded by its President and General Manager, Mr. Antonio “Ogie” B. Salazar, Jr., Coolidge Trading Corporation is now the major player in the satisfaction of the growing demand for imported caskets, viewing equipment, funeral hearses, urns, cremation machines, columbarium and memorial park lighting systems.
Coolidge Trading Corporation has unloaded death-care providers of the burden of arduous tasks of transacting requisitions and transhipments of these needs.
In the first quarter of 2008, Coolidge was awarded the Sole Philippines Distributorship for YQ 2000 OUYA MIDDLE GRADE CREMATOR by the Jiangxi Nanfang Environmental Protection Machine Group Co. Ltd. , based in mainland China.
To date, Coolidge has already installed two crematorium units at Arlington Memorial Chapel in Araneta Ave., Quezon City; one unit at the City Government of Antipolo; and about 6,000 units of columbarium vaults at La Travesia Memorial Park in Lipa City, Batangas. Proposals and negotiations with different cities and municipalities, mortuaries and memorial parks are in place and are on their final phases.
